Hy-Dash Final Drive – Little Tricky to Repair
Do you own a Hy-dash final drive or travel drive motor? They are great motors, but when they break down they can be a little tricky to repair if you don’t know what you are doing.
In this video Travis discusses a malfunctioning Hy-Dash final drive that a customer described as either running extremely slow or not running at all.
Upon disassembly and inspection, Travis discovered only one serious problem: the coupling between the upper drive shaft and lower drive shaft was no longer gripping like it should because the gear teeth on the shafts were severely worn. This was likely just the result of wear and tear on the drive motor.
