Shipping a Final Drive Motor Video
Just follow these simple steps to be sure your hydraulic drive gets to the desired destination in safe condition.
Follow these essential packaging guidelines to protect your final drive core from transit damage.
1
Pre-Shipping Preparation
Securely plug all hydraulic ports to stop fluid leaks during transit. Keep the drive fully assembled, or place loose parts inside a heavy-duty garbage bag to prevent damage. Do not ship the sprocket, retain your fittings, and don't worry about cleaning off dried mud.
2
Package Smaller Final Drives (< 150 lbs)
Avoid wooden crates. Take an industrial-strength 5-gallon bucket and remove the wire handle. Place a 3/4" plywood circle at the bottom, sit the motor on top, add bubble wrap or packing paper, top with a second 3/4" plywood circle, and duct tape the lid securely.
3
Package Larger Final Drives (> 150 lbs)
Select a sturdy cardboard box with enough clearance. Place the final drive inside and completely fill all surrounding space using expanding foam (typically 2+ cans). Seal the box and reinforce the exterior with heavy-duty straps.
Quick Checklist Before Shipping
Hydraulic ports tightly plugged?
Sprocket removed and fittings kept?
No loose parts rolling around?
Weight checked (Bucket for <150 lbs | Box + Foam for >150 lbs)?
